October Newsletter

Kia ora,

At our recent AGM we reflected on a challenging 12 months for CA with the disruptive impact that COVID had in many areas including the uncertainly it, and other world events, created. This and not be able to meet in person for a long period, reduced the investment appetite for many CA members.

The CA Board is committed to addressing this situation. Our focus in the next 12 months is being directed to

  • Building up our membership numbers – this initiative is being led by CA Board member Richard Morgan. Further to Richard’s recent note we would like you to bring a friend or two or three along to our 20th of October Pitch Evening to get a taste of what Angel Investing is all about.
  • Increasing investment levels
  • Delivering quality in person pitch evenings
  • Providing more education events – I highly recommend the Angels 102 online event being hosted by Ken Erskine, a real expert on Angel Investing, on 10th November (see email invite)
  • Staying heavily engaged with Canterbury start-up ecosystem
  • Increasing our level of sponsorship.

I look forward to seeing you on the 20th of October

Ngā mihi
